According to recent research, about 81% of people who were asked if they “believe in God” said yes. But what God do they believe in? Where are they putting their faith?
I think we can all agree that faith is essential to your life. But not just any kind of faith will do. We need to have the right kind of faith, a fantastic biblical faith.
The Bible says, “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)
As you walk out your spiritual journey, here are four essentials for a fantastic faith.
Fantastic Faith starts with a belief in God.
Our first step is to start by believing that there is a God who created the universe. “By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. “(Hebrews 11:3)
You might not have all the answers yet, and that’s okay. But true faith always starts here. There is a God, and I want to know him.
Fantastic Faith believes in Jesus as the savior.
Once you put your faith in the God of the Bible, the next logical faith step you take is to believe in his son. Jesus said, “You believe in God; believe also in me.” (John 14:1)
This step is essential for the salvation of our souls because the Christian faith is a belief in a person, Jesus Christ.
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)
Fantastic Faith has a desire to please God.
We spend a lot of our lives trying to please ourselves. We go to great lengths to get things first class and right now. It’s time we started trying to please God.
And if you’ve ever wanted to please God, faith is where you start. “Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith is always accompanied by believing and seeking.
Fantastic Faith moves with confident action.
Faith is an action word. It’s not meant just to be head knowledge. Many people believe a God exists, but it doesn’t change their lives. Knowing about God and having faith in him are different things altogether.
“You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?’ (James 2:19)
True faith in God is put into action. It drives us to live in a way that is obedient to his word and does things that please him.
How is your faith being put into action?
