21 Days of Prayer – Day 20

21 Days of Prayer - Day 21

What would happen to our nation if we prayed for our leaders as much as we complained about them? Answer… a miracle!

Unfortunately, I think we might be in similar times as to that of Ezekiel when God said, “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” (Ezekiel 22:30)

How sad is it when God can’t find anyone who will stand in the gap and pray for the nation? You might not know it but God is looking for someone, like you, who will stand in the gap and pray for our nation and the leaders who run it.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 says, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Simply put; if you want to live in a great nation you have to pray for a great nation.

Of all people in the world Christians, followers of Jesus, should be praying for those who are in authority. Complaining about them doesn’t work miracles, but prayer does.

For scripture teaches, “there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.” (Romans 13:1-2) So pray for them.

That’s my challenge for you today. Lift up the President, senators, congressman, governors, council members, school boards and so many more. Stand in the gap and build up the wall of prayer. Ask that God would move on their hearts and they would come to know Jesus. Pray that God would surround them with godly people and they would begin to start making godly decision.

It’s the kind of prayer God’s waiting for.

Day 20 Prayer Verse:

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Day 20 Prayers:

  • Pray for the President and Vice President. Ask God to move on their hearts.
  • Pray for our governor that he would surrender his life to Jesus.
