How Big Is Heaven? Everyone wants to know.

Old Blue is what we called the powder blue Ford Ranger we drove when we were first married. It was our only car for a time. It had just enough room for me in the driver’s seat, my wife in the middle and my son in his car seat taking up the last spot.

Man it was crowded! When we had our daughter we needed something bigger so we managed to get a little red four door Saturn that my legs were too long for. But it could fit the four of us.
When our third and fourth child arrived we had to take it to a whole other level. Minivan status had now arrived and we loved it. It was like an apartment!

As a father the bigger my family gets the more room I want my family to have. Room where they can stretch their arms and legs but still be close by. Because no matter how big my family gets I always want them around.

Did you know that Jesus is making heaven bigger because he wants you around?

Jesus said, “There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” (John 14:2-3)

In preparation for each one of my children I made room for them. I prepared for their arrival by getting a bigger car, decorating their rooms and buying bigger strollers.

Jesus said he is kind of doing the exact same thing. He’s preparing heaven for us so that when we get there it’s ready. How cool is that?

Think about that today. Jesus is preparing a place in HIS HOUSE just for you and me. He’s remodeling his house so we can stay with him. How cool!

The bottom line is that Jesus wants you around his house for all eternity. I hope you can take some comfort in that today. Even if you feel like no one else wants to be around you. He does.
